Elementary reading comprehension passage with questions – Exercise 2
Read the paragraph and choose the best answer to each comprehension question.
It is half past midnight but I couldn’t sleep. I kept on twisting and turning in my bed but it just won’t do, so I decided to sit up. I wait there in the dark listening to the rustling of the leaves from the branch of the tree brushing my window as the wind blows hard and whistles in the silence of the night. Water pours on the roof bathing anything it hits. It’s been three days since Kristina came to our town causing floods everywhere. Breaking trees, houses, and buildings here and there. What’s worst was that there was no power so we’re using candles which were trying so hard not to be blown out by the strong wind. I hate the sound of the wind; it chills me to the bone and makes every hair in my body stands. It is the reason why I just couldn’t sleep. Oh! I hope it would and Kristina would just simply go away.
